2023 October Must Do List

Let’s be honest, Fall in Sarasota doesn’t feel “crisp” like it does in our Northern region, however, we still love to embrace spooky season here and as a first time mom, i’m super excited to celebrate all of the spooky activities this year! Today i’m sharing my top 5 must-do list in honor of October & to kick off the official start to the holiday season.

  1. Fruitville Grove Pumpkin Festival

Every weekend in October, located at 7410 Fruitville Road

This is a hidden farm located right on Fruitville near the newest Waterside extension and a must-do to get in the spooky season mood! They have a farmer’s market, pumpkin patch, petting zoo, Torres family circus, rides and pony rides, and so much more! I love going here every year, it’s such a fun family event and there’s plenty to do!

2. Lights at Spooky Point

October 13-October 31st, 401 N Tamiami Trail

I’m pumped to attend this event for this first time this year! Historic Spanish Point campus is transformed into “Spooky Point” where you can follow an eerily lit path and encounter fantastic creations and bootanically-themed decorations along the way. Equal parts creepy, campy, and cute, this walk-through show is fun for all ages.

3. Hunsader Farms Pumpkin Festival

Every weekend in October starting on October 14th, 5500 C.R. 675, Bradenton

Very similar to Fruitville Grove but a bit bigger and they have hay rides - definitely a must visit!

4. Fall Festival at UTC

October 21-22, 140 University Town Center Drive

UTC does the holidays right so you should definitely add this event to your list! Enjoy carnival rides, a pumpkin patch, trunk-or-treat, performances, pet costume contest, food and beer trucks, and much, much more!

5. Trick or Treat on The Lake

October 26 at Nathan Benderson Park

Don your spookiest, silliest, or most star-studded costumes and prepare for an evening of trick-or-treating along our candy trail. Experience not-too-spooky themed booths decorated by community organizations, all ready to treat you with candies and delights. It’s a fantastic way to experience the creativity and spirit of our local community! But the fun doesn’t stop at the candy trail! We have an area dedicated to interactive play for the little ones, as well as a storytelling corner to ignite their imaginations with Halloween tales. Plus, enjoy live music throughout the evening to keep the Halloween spirit alive and kicking!

If you check out any of these events this month, let me know what you think! I hope you enjoy your spooky season. Thank you for reading!
