My Favorite Mexican Restaurants in Sarasota
It’s Monday afternoon and I’m already dreaming of Taco Tuesday! On the blog today, I want to talk about my favorite spots in Sarasota to enjoy Mexican food and a great margarita.
El Melvin Cocina Mexicana
Number one on the list is my absolute favorite Mexican restaurant in Sarasota and here’s why: A. They have a super tasty margarita and B. their chicken fajitas are some of the best I’ve ever had. In addition to these two things (which are very important) the ambiance is top tier. From the exterior architecture to the details inside, the vibe is immaculate and it’s the perfect spot to enjoy delicious Mexican cuisine and a cocktail. Also, if you’re a night owl, this is a great spot to check out later in the evening as they always have great music, events, and a guaranteed good time with friends.
The Hub Baja Grill
Next up is the Hub in Siesta Key Village. This isn’t 100% Mexican cuisine but more of a Baja/Mexican twist on food - definitely worthy of mentioning though because their food is good, they have a ton of margarita flavors and live music daily. This is a great spot to visit during lunch or dinner because you are able to people watch from the restaurant, enjoying live tropical music, and savor their fish tacos. I highly recommend visiting this spot!
Fire Tacos Food Truck
When I tell you they make some of the best tacos in Sarasota, please believe me. This is a food truck and you can usually find them on Packinghouse road or at local events, but definitely make sure to track them down and enjoy their authentic street tacos. My favorites are the ground beef, chicken, and chorizo tacos.
Screaming Goat Taqueria
This is a great spot in gulf gate to check out and you will be glad you did. They have almost 1000 reviews averaging 4.7 stars on google and definitely earned that bragging right. This is especially a really good option if you’re vegan or vegetarian and almost everything on their menu is gluten free. I love the curried sweet potato taco, vegan chorizo, and beef barbacoa taco.
The Grasshopper Mexican Restaurant
Last on my list is the Grasshopper. I love this spot because it’s super budget friendly and the food is great and it’s open until 10PM on weekdays. You can grab a pitcher of margaritas for $28 and enjoy al a carte tacos which are fabulous with complimentary chips and salsa. The ambiance inside is great, the service is quick and easy, and the food never misses.
Please let me know if you check out any of these spots in the comment section below and I hope you enjoy your Taco Tuesday! Thank you for reading.
